Place to be so alluring and as captivating
Last year, I had the luxury of going to one of the most beautiful cities in one of the most beautiful states in the America. That place is Raleigh, North Carolina. I run for my university track and field team and was set to compete at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. I was excited to just be making the trip and to compete, but as soon as I arrived I was struck with complete awe and amazement. I had not expected the place to be so alluring and as captivating as it was. Once there, we familiarized ourselves with the area in which we would be staying. Driving around, I noticed large skyscrapers, beautiful homes and schools, and thriving city life and businesses. My focus of competing nearly became clouded by the breathtaking attractiveness North Carolina had presented. Those few days did enough to show me that Raleigh was the place I wanted to live and raise a family someday.
Of course, I did not just stop at the artificial, visual layer to understand what Raleigh had to offer, I had to do some research. I had to find out if economically that would be the right decision for me to make someday. Raleigh, NC is one of the nationís booming cities. It is a city that is on a strong rise toward success. The city is one the best cities for college graduates and families to get a start on the real world. There is a great chance for employment growth and opportunities in the Raleigh, NC area. Factors such as strong neighborhoods and attractive homes and their affordability make Raleigh a place for designed for the future. Strong pushes toward advances in education, health, and technology are what make this city so alluring and arguably one of the best places in the world to live. I believe the part that entices me most about living in Raleigh is the potential is has for me to make a difference with desired career as an urban planner.
I strongly want to become an urban planner. I want a career and life path that will include improving the quality of life of not just myself and family, but for others. Downtown life is wonderful, but issues still plague the cities inhabitants. My focus would be on improving not only the city aesthetically, but also addressing the core issues associated with the neighborhoods and schools. Raleigh is on a fast climb toward economic prowess. I want to be a vital part of changing and improving the tough matters that often go unnoticed or ignored, and help the city continue to thrive. I have so many plans and ideas I want to explore as an urban planner, and I feel with presents the best opportunities to make these ideas a reality.
Cities that have more healthy and safe play spaces for children will improve the quality of life of not just the children, but their parents, too. Happier children breed more contented parents. There would be plenty of environmentally safe seating for parents, grandparents, older siblings, and young children. The improved urban design would include recreational centers strung throughout the city where everyone from the elderly to babies could socialize and improve their health. There would be much of the latest physical fitness apparatus appropriate for each age group, but there would also be vital meeting spaces. A viewing room would regularly show films and presentations on many things from making healthy physical and social choices to comedies and dramas, as well as community productions that promoted creativity and connections among community members. There would be teaching kitchens where people could learn about cooking healthy dishes. There would be several computer rooms, free Wi-Fi throughout, and many spaces where teenagers and adults could meet in small groups to chat and relax. These recreational centers have the potential to become community hubs that will connect us all. I feel certain that if people can feel more connected to the community around them then there can be less depression, less crime, improved health, more hope, and more success.
I feel that Raleigh is one of the nationís best because it promotes these innovations. Itís a city that will allow me to improve the lives of others as well as my own. Great homes. Great schools. Great people. Great opportunities. Raleigh, North Carolina is a lovely place and is that is why itís my dream destination.
